Intraoral Camera

Intraoral camera

An intraoral camera is a small digital camera that takes high-resolution digital photos of the inside of your mouth that can be viewed on the screen. These images show the external condition of your teeth, soft tissues of the gums, mouth, and tongue in great detail. It is possible to represent a single tooth at fifty times its actual size. Consequently, digital technology allows us to look for cracks, cavities and imperfections that may not be captured on a radiograph. This can also be viewed by the patient on a computer screen creating a recognizable image.

This is valuable data for precise diagnosis and planning. It is used in addition to digital radiology to create a more comprehensive treatment plan. To learn more about intraoral camera, contact our office.
